Arizona Oncology Associates, an affiliate of US Oncology, and located in located in Tucson, Arizona has an opening for a full time medical dosimetrist to join a team of five dosimetrists and four physicists. The duties include 2-D and 3-D external beam planning for xrays and electron treatments. They would also assist in simulation, CT scanning, treatment setups and participate in the therapist training school. There will also be an opportunity for HDR brachytherapy planning.

Arizona Oncology Associates provides radiation treatment at four clinics in Tucson, Yuma, and Arizona, treating over 2000 patients per year. There are a total of six accelerators, all are dual energy accelerators (Varian 2100 series with two EX) all with IMPAC and MLC. Radiation beam treatment planning is carried out with the CMS XiO 3D planning system. There are three CT simulators and three conventional simulators.

AOA has an active brachytherapy program. HDR is performed with a Nucletron Microselectron unit and PLATO treatment planning software, prostate seed implant with the Prowess system and Variseed, endovascular brachytherapy with a Novoste device and a Guidant system.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, possesses excellent communication skills and is able to carry out the tasks in a highly professional manner. Although CMD is preferred, on-the-job training will be provided to an exceptional candidate.
