Texas Health Plano is seeking a 1st shift Team Lead / Sonographer III to join the Imaging / Radiology Team.
The Imaging Department at Texas Health Plano offers an array of diagnostic imaging services, all in a convenient and comfortable environment. The Ultrasound department completes about 800 exams per month and is ACR accredited.
The Sonographer Team Lead on the first shift will have approximately 9 direct reports (5 FT, 1PT and 3 PRN) who all have obtained their RVT and be coordinating staff scheduling, training and supervision which includes performance evaluations / improvements and compliance.
Hours / Schedule: Full Time / 36 hours / 1st shift
Minimum Requirements / Experience:
• Graduate of an AMA approved ultrasound program
• Eight (8) years experience (3 years in a lead / supervisory role strongly preferred)
• Basic cardiac life support (CPR), ARDMS and RVT
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, self-directed and independent
• Must have experience in performing annual staff evaluations and taking an active role in development of staff thru coaching/mentoring
• Must be able to respond to call within 30 min; Call is required

Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:
Patient Care:
• Maintains patient safety
• Assess level of patient care
• Identifies and validates exam
Imaging Procedures, Quality, and Processing:
• Manages daily workload Ensure image quality
• Knowledge of PACS, HIS, RIS
• Maintains confidentiality, privacy, and complies with HIPAA guidelines
Professional Accountability and Partnership:
• Maintains current licensure and projects professional image
• Demonstrates required competencies and uses appropriate telephone etiquette
• Manages workload daily and after hours
• Identifies areas for self improvement
Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
• Follows Infection Control guidelines and maintains equipment in good condition
• Demonstrates knowledge of quality control
Continuous Improvements:
• Identifies and troubleshoot workflow processes and participates in quality improvement processes
• Attends minimum of 9 department staff meetings, in-services, hospital re-orientation and educational seminars
• Promotes customer satisfaction and patient safety
• Maintains “Pledge to my Peers” philosophy with coworkers
• Performs all duties in compliance with HIPAA, JCAHO, hospital and department standards and policies
