Providence is calling a Radiology Tech III with experience in X-Ray, CT and MRI to the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, AK.

The Radiology Tech III performs radiographic procedures using various methods and equipment and provides patient care while procedures are in progress.

Schedule: Monday through Friday - 8 hour shifts - Variable Schedule

Office Hours: 7am to 5:30pm

In this position you will:
• Perform a wide variety of Diagnostic X-Ray, CT and MRI procedures and protocols, maintaining high image quality according to department, hospital, and national standards. Prepare examination rooms, equipment and patients for scheduled procedures.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses and other members of the team concerning patient status, diagnosis, and related information. Operate multiple communication and telecommunication systems. Help coordinate scheduling of routine exams, tests, and daily add-on procedures.
• Comply with department and hospital magnetic safety standards. Practice Body Substance Isolation. Complete education necessary to maintain licensure or certification required for job.
• Calibrate, maintain and trouble-shoot MRI equipment, PACS, and independent workstations. Optimize equipment and supplies to benefit department operations and needs.
• Stock work area daily; may be involved in stocking general supplies or ordering as requested.

Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
• ARRT Certification, or obtain ARRT Certification within six (6) months of date of hire
• BLS or attain BLS within ninety (90) days of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:
• Two (2) years clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist
• Two (2) years work experience in CT
• Two (2) years work experience in MRI

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island. This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC’s long term care facility, has 22 beds.

PKIMC provides an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency department, surgery, laboratory services, maternity, general medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, sleep studies, specialty clinics, diagnostic imaging services and pharmacy and is staffed by a mix of primary care physicians, surgeons and specialists who provide family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, radiology and general practice.
