About Interventional Radiology Jobs

Interventional radiology (IR) is a subspecialty of medical imaging that specializes in minimally invasive procedures with the use of fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. Some procedures are for diagnostic purposes like angiograms, while others are done for treatment such as angioplasties.

The use of needles or catheters are used when performing procedures such as biopsies, draining fluids, inserting catheters, or dilating or stenting narrowed ducts or vessels.(Source: radiologyinfo.com and Wikipedia)

Interventional Radiology

Carilion Clinic is seeking another Interventional Radiologist (neuro, peripheral or both) for a rapidly growing IR section. Our flagship hospital is an 825-bed tertiary care/teaching hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation, serving approximately 1.5 million people throughout Southwest Virginia.

We seek people of excellent character and integrity, with good education, training, skills and current competence, who want to work in a friendly, collaborative environment to be advocates for our patients, consultants for our radiology staff and clinical physicians, and ambassadors for radiology and Carilion Clinic. Radiologists invited to Carilion Clinic will join an experienced team of board-certified radiologists and clinical colleagues committed to multidisciplinary integration, efficiency of care, quality improvement, teaching in an academic environment, and research.
