About Interventional Radiology Jobs
Interventional radiology (IR) is a subspecialty of medical imaging that specializes in minimally invasive procedures with the use of fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. Some procedures are for diagnostic purposes like angiograms, while others are done for treatment such as angioplasties.
The use of needles or catheters are used when performing procedures such as biopsies, draining fluids, inserting catheters, or dilating or stenting narrowed ducts or vessels.(Source: radiologyinfo.com and Wikipedia)
Medical Director (I/R & DR)
Well established group is expanding into a new state of the art, flagship hospital in northern Virginia.
Great history, with cultural, recreational and real estate options abounding.
The Fredericksburg region is the most heavily populated in the state with only one hospital. Patient patterns demonstrate many leaving the area for care underscoring the need for another hospital. Spotsylvania is projected to be the second-fastest growing county in Virginia in the next decade. Over the next 10 years, the entire region is expected to have a growth rate of 50 percent, eventually reaching a population of 450,000. The population is also aging rapidly, which will drive up the demand for healthcare services. Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center is the answer and will open spring of 2010.
Looking for Director/Chief with a solid, exemplary background who can demonstrate the ability to lead the team clinically and who can cohesively integate what is necessary for future growth.
There is potential for this position to lead into a regional directorship in the future.
The facility will have moderate to high volume from the beginning and there will be upside financial incentives to providers for performance. The outlook is for volume to increase steadily which will be profitable for all. Solid referral patterns in place. Facility and group are will be patient focused.
Clinical excellence is the bar that is held high. State of the art equipment and a paperless environment will complement this.
All general modalities will be seen including CT, MRI, PET, nuclear medicine, Ultrasound, mammography.

Radiation therapy, Cardiac catheterization capabilities, Obstetrics and neonatal special care, 24-hour emergency department, Advanced-technology operating rooms, complete with an on-campus medical office building. All conveniently located with easy highway access.
