About Mammography Jobs
Mammography is a system that produces breasts images using a low-dose x-ray system. Viewing of the images can be done in various formats such as film at a view box or on a digital mammography work station. Mammography plays an important role in early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in breasts up to two years before it can be felt.
Current guidelines recommend mammography screening every year for women, beginning at age 40. However women who have had breast cancer and those who are at increased risk of breast cancer should seek expert medical advice when they should begin mammograms and about the frequency of screening. DC Area Radiology Opening
A very large single-specialty group in the Baltimore-Washington area is looking to expand by adding on multiple partnership positions for radiologists with different backgrounds and skill sets. This is a very stable practice that has been around for over 40 years. They are currently looking for radiologists with training in interventional radiology, mammography, MR, neuro, and generalists. This large group staffs multiple hospitals and multiple outpatient imaging centers in the area. They own their own imaging centers and equipment and plan to invest $20 million in acquiring some of the latest technology. The partnership track is 1 year with partners having a base salary of $300,000 with bonuses paid quarterly based on the profitability of the group. The group also offers plenty of time off with 8 weeks of vacation.
