Mammography jobs are regulated by the California Medical Board. The mission of the Medical Board of California is to protect healthcare consumers through the proper licensing and regulation of physicians and surgeons and certain allied healthcare professions and through the vigorous, objective enforcement of the Medical Practice Act, and, to promote access to quality medical care to all California citizens through the Board's licensing and regulatory functions.
Academic hospital in California is looking to add an additional Mammographer, to a department of 3 already.
Equipment includes: A fully equipped mammography suite with 3 new mammo units, a breast US unit, and a dedicated digitalized stereotactic breast biopsy unit. There are 5 US rooms with fully equipped high-resolution computerized sonography units with full color and pulse Doppler capability. There is a high-speed helical CT unit, CT angiography, and 3-D CT. There is also a 1.5 Tesla MR unit that is equipped with state-of-the-art echo-planar hardware. There is a Phillips web-based PACS system that allows for call to be taken offsite. The department is in the process of putting together a voice recognition system and should have that in place in the next few months.
Initial income is dependent upon academic ranking and experience. There are production bonuses as well.
