Beautiful Location To Practice

AZ090612MSTR

Group of five Radiologists servicing eastern Arizona .  The group has an exclusive agreement with a Medical Center, a 66-bed acute care community hospital.  The group has done extremely well with this contract, and the hospital has continued to update the equipment to keep the radiology department well equipped.  The hospital has an 8-slice CT scanner, a 1.5 tesla MRI, CR and digital fluoroscopy, ultrasonography, mammography, and nuclear medicine with fused SPECT/CT.  The hospital also has a mobile PET/CT unit visiting twice per month. They do some light interventions such as biopsies (including vacuum assisted breast biopsy), and drainage procedures.  They read studies at an outpatient imaging center equipped with CR, mammography, ultrasound, and CT; and at a separate outpatient open MRI (joint venture between physicians and the hospital). All facilities are equipped with PACS, and the hospital PACS has just been upgraded with a new system.  A 64-slice CT has been approved for purchase in the spring of 2007.  The hospital is undergoing a major expansion, with a 5-story patient tower now up in structural steel.  The hospital is geographically isolated, and draws patients from a large service area.  The area is experiencing rapid growth, in a beautiful 4-season mountainous recreational environment.  There is local air service, and the town is less than a 3-hour drive to Phoenix.

The group works in various shifts, and the latest shift is now from  10am-7pm.  The person on this shift stays on tele-call until 9pm, and then a nighthawk service covers most calls until the first shift starts at 7am the next morning.  The group rotates, so that each physician reads a specific mix of exams on any given day, and everyone in the group rotates equally through all of the modalities.  On the weekends, the group shares equal call, and can take call call at home via teleradiology.  The weekend physician gets Thursday and Tuesday off, so each week is a “5-day work week”.  All full members receive equal vacation, currently with one physician off each week.

The group has a new radiologist contracted to start in the summer of 2007. One of the senior physicians has just announced that he would like to go part-time, and the group has enough volume to bring on an additional full-time radiologist. This is a medium volume but growing practice (each physician read ~15,000 studies in 2005).  An additional physician will allow adjusting the schedule to keep each work shift to ~8 hours or less, allow for growth, and will also allow greater availability of vacation time.

The group offers a one-year track to partnership.  After six months, the group will inform the new physician whether he/she will make partner, and no one has ever been denied partnership in the group.  There is no buy-in into the partnership, and once the physician is a partner, he/she will receive an equal distribution of the group’s revenue (in 2005, each full partner received $525,000, after malpractice and other benefits were covered by the group).  The group will offer a competitive base salary for the first year, as well as a benefits package which includes eight weeks of vacation

Please email or fax me a copy of your CV if you would like it  sent it to the group on your behalf.  We would then assist in arranging a confidential and mutually convenient time for the client to contact you over the phone(usually arranged in the evening).   Feel free to call me if you have any questions.  I can be reached Monday-Thursday from 9am to 9pm EST,  Friday 9 to 5.

We are always very thankful for referrals of quality Radiology candidates.  Rest assured confidentiality will be maintained if required.   Many times we have seen where a Radiology candidate has a friend who is looking for a new position who they would like to work with or who would like to be confidentially kept abreast of Radiology positions in specific areas.

I have been a physician recruiter for over twenty years and I understand that Radiologists in practice as well as those coming out of training often require confidentiality in their search as well they do not wish their CV forwarded without their permission .   I do this by only emailing the Radiologist or calling them at home to give them details about a position.  They require that I get their permission  before I can talk to a Radiology group on their behalf and forward their CV.  When I forward a  CV with permission, I note on the cover sheet that the Radiologist insists on keeping his/her search confidential if so instructed. Also I note the Radiologist would only like to be called at home at a mutually agreed upon time to discuss the position.
