About Mammography Jobs
Mammography is a system that produces breasts images using a low-dose x-ray system. Viewing of the images can be done in various formats such as film at a view box or on a digital mammography work station. Mammography plays an important role in early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in breasts up to two years before it can be felt.
Current guidelines recommend mammography screening every year for women, beginning at age 40. However women who have had breast cancer and those who are at increased risk of breast cancer should seek expert medical advice when they should begin mammograms and about the frequency of screening. Metro Philadelphia Radiology Opening
A very nice mid sized radiology group in the suburbs of Philadelphia is offering a partnership opportunity for a mammographer to join their group. This could also be a part time, non partnership track if the candidate prefers. In either case, the vast majority of the workload will be in mammography. The group currently staffs one hospital and 3 imaging centers that are outfitted with all of the latest equipment. They are currently doing breast MR, digital mammography, ultrasound guided breast biopsies, etc. The compensation is very competitive, starting candidates over $300,000 with partners making over $600,000. The group is democratic, financially strong, and positioned well for growth. Philadelphia is a fantastic metro area, with professional sports, arts, cuisine, and the historical charm of one of the oldest cities in America.
