About Mammography Jobs
Mammography is a system that produces breasts images using a low-dose x-ray system. Viewing of the images can be done in various formats such as film at a view box or on a digital mammography work station. Mammography plays an important role in early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in breasts up to two years before it can be felt.
Current guidelines recommend mammography screening every year for women, beginning at age 40. However women who have had breast cancer and those who are at increased risk of breast cancer should seek expert medical advice when they should begin mammograms and about the frequency of screening. D.C. area Radiology Opening
A single-specialty radiology group, located on the outskirts of DC in southern Maryland and northern Virginia, is looking to bring on a general radiologist with a proficiency in breast imaging. This mid sized group staffs multiple outpatient centers, but no hospitals, so there is no night call. They have state-of-the-art equipment with PACS, PET/CT, 64 Slice CT, 4D US, and 1.5 MR. The group offers full insurance, 12 weeks of leave, and contributes the maximum amount to 401K programs. The compensation is over $260,000 to start and after 2 years one could expect to be making $350,000. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants a no-call position coupled with access to DC, but removed from the busy pace of the capitol.
