About Mammography Jobs
Mammography is a system that produces breasts images using a low-dose x-ray system. Viewing of the images can be done in various formats such as film at a view box or on a digital mammography work station. Mammography plays an important role in early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in breasts up to two years before it can be felt.
Current guidelines recommend mammography screening every year for women, beginning at age 40. However women who have had breast cancer and those who are at increased risk of breast cancer should seek expert medical advice when they should begin mammograms and about the frequency of screening. Mammographer North of NYC
A private practice an hour north of New York City is looking for a mammographer. This employee position has a starting compensation of around $350,000 with 8 weeks of vacation. This position consists of a 5 day work week with no nights, no weekends and no call. They are all digital and have both PACS and voice recognition software in place. Daily mammography reads for this 100% mammography position run about 60-70 reads per day. It is possible to live in New York City and work in this easily commutable area.
