About Mammography Jobs
Mammography is a system that produces breasts images using a low-dose x-ray system. Viewing of the images can be done in various formats such as film at a view box or on a digital mammography work station. Mammography plays an important role in early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in breasts up to two years before it can be felt.
Current guidelines recommend mammography screening every year for women, beginning at age 40. However women who have had breast cancer and those who are at increased risk of breast cancer should seek expert medical advice when they should begin mammograms and about the frequency of screening. Breast Imaging Radiologist
M1086-Breast Imaging Radiologist/General Radiologist
Growing 20+ person Hospital based group in beautiful Coastal Virginia seeks one new RADIOLOGIST, fellowship trained in Breast Imaging. Group services 3 hospitals, 2 PET centers (group has partial ownership of one of the PET centers) and several outpatient offices. Competitive compensation package including starting salary of 300K 1st year depending on experience then base salary plus a percentage of partner bonus second year, 2 year partnership track with no buy-in. Partnership Income in excess of 500K. Full benefits package including 10,000 for professional development, up to 4,000 reimbursement for medical expenses each year, a pension/profit plan worth 50K-70K added to the yearly salary, 11-12 weeks vacation and much more. Nighthawk coverage after 11 p.m. weekdays and after 9 p.m. on weekends. Call shared equally during the week and is light and 1 weekend call per month. Teleradiology connected between the 3 hospitals and to each of the Radiologists' homes.Mammo required but Angio is not required as the group has separate angio/procedure call. Caseload average is 20,000 cases per Rad per year. Excellent equipment including 16 slice spiral CTS, 1.5T. PACS at all 3 hospitals. Group has 3 full-time Radiology Assistants (1 in each hospital) who do all the fluoroscopy including arthrograms, enteroclysis and all the barium work. They also employ a full-time administrator who can fill in for an RA when they are on vacation. Coastal town, tourists every summer, low crime, lots of water activities including boating, deep water fishing, jetskiing, kayaking and sailing.
