About Mammography Jobs
Mammography is a system that produces breasts images using a low-dose x-ray system. Viewing of the images can be done in various formats such as film at a view box or on a digital mammography work station. Mammography plays an important role in early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in breasts up to two years before it can be felt.
Current guidelines recommend mammography screening every year for women, beginning at age 40. However women who have had breast cancer and those who are at increased risk of breast cancer should seek expert medical advice when they should begin mammograms and about the frequency of screening. New York Radiology Opening
A single specialty group on Long Island is looking to bring on a mammographer due to growth of the practice and the community. This person could be either full time or part time. This position offers a heavy concentration of work in the modality but it is also possible to do general diagnostic radiology if desired. Initial compensation is $300,000+ to start. This group has PACS as well as their own internal nighthawk. Vacation is 5 weeks and one week of CME is also offered.
