About Mammography Jobs
Mammography is a system that produces breasts images using a low-dose x-ray system. Viewing of the images can be done in various formats such as film at a view box or on a digital mammography work station. Mammography plays an important role in early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in breasts up to two years before it can be felt.
Current guidelines recommend mammography screening every year for women, beginning at age 40. However women who have had breast cancer and those who are at increased risk of breast cancer should seek expert medical advice when they should begin mammograms and about the frequency of screening. Alabama Radiology Opening
A very well respected single specialty group in metro Alabama is offering an attractive partnership position for a qualified radiologist. Fellowship training in not a requirement, but someone with skills in mammography is preferred. The group covers 5 hospitals and 5 imaging centers, but PACS makes travel almost unnecessary. They work mainly out of one hospital and one imaging center which they own. This stable practice has over 50 years of experience and slow and steady growth is driving their need to hire an additional partner. They are doing very well financially and plan to start the incoming physician at around $300,000 with partners making well over that. The group recognizes the importance of rest and family time so everyone takes 12 weeks of vacation. This will be a great opportunity for someone who would like to find a strong practice in the Deep South.
