About Mammography Jobs
Mammography is a system that produces breasts images using a low-dose x-ray system. Viewing of the images can be done in various formats such as film at a view box or on a digital mammography work station. Mammography plays an important role in early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in breasts up to two years before it can be felt.
Current guidelines recommend mammography screening every year for women, beginning at age 40. However women who have had breast cancer and those who are at increased risk of breast cancer should seek expert medical advice when they should begin mammograms and about the frequency of screening. This large sub-specialized practice is recruiting their eighth breast imager. The group covers several hospitals, several imaging centers and has several referring physician contracts, too.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your participation will primarily be at a state-of-the-art women’s center, which is fully digital. It is ACR accredited, FDA certified, and affiliated with a premier cancer center, with weekly oncology conferences and enjoys amicable and respectful relationships with dedicated breast surgeons, utilizing a team approach to care. You can expect 75% breast imaging, in exams such as DEXA, Digital Mammography, Ultrasound (including 3-D ultrasound), and extensive breast MR with CAD to include biopsy and needle localization. Ultrasound and stereotactic biopsies are performed using nearly all commercially available VADs. The mammogram technologists are top-notch, and all ultrasound technologists are dedicated breast sonographers.
