JOB DESCRIPTION FOR:Diagnostic Services Manager REPORTS TO:Director of Clinical Services REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS: California Radiography license (CRT), American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Mammography license at state level (CRT M) required. Experience in routine diagnostic radiography procedures, Mammography and Quality Assurance. Must have experience in staff management, team building and budget preparation. Experience in management of Ultrasound preferred. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Prepare Operating and Capital budget for Radiology, Ultrasound and Ancillary Services Reception. 2. Monitor budget reports monthly to assure compliance, reconcile reports out of compliance. 3. Maintain productivity data, analyze to indicate trend changes. 4. Maintain Mammography records in compliance with Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) to assure continued program licensure. 5. Assure licensed staff maintain CEUs adequate for license renewal. 6. Maintain records to assure compliance with county and state requirements for management of Hazardous Waste Materials. 7. Interview, hire, and counsel and terminate staff. 8. Maintains adequate staff in all areas of responsibility to assure quality patient care. 9. Daily supervision of staff in all areas of responsibility. 10. Provide performance appraisals for staff in all areas of responsibility. 11. Handle patient concerns and complaints. 12. With input from physicians, analyze and make recommendations for purchase of new equipment. 13. With input from physicians, analyze and make recommendations for patient flow, scheduling and space utilization. 14. Write and maintain all policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility. 15. Responsible for quality of care provided in all areas of responsibility. 16. Maintain all forms for Radiology, ECHO and ECG. 17. Assure all report documentation is compliant with state requirements, Title XVII, including subpoena requests. 18. Orient new staff to Radiology, ECHO and ECG, as well as provide broad overview of these areas to other MMC staff as required. 19. Maintain supplies for all areas of responsibility. 20. Manage equipment maintenance for all areas of responsibility. 21. Maintain records of all maintenance for equipment for all areas of responsibility. 22. Represent Ancillary Services at meetings (Supervisor Meeting, Nurse Advisory Committee). 23. Perform duties of staff technologist as required. 24. Other tasks and duties as assigned by Director of Nursing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to sit for periods of time with numerous interruptions, which may require standing walking and bending, some heavy lifting or handling of patients or supplies or equipment. It may also entail pushing, twisting or reaching. Fine and gross motor manipulations are required as well as good visual acuity.
