About Mammography Tech Jobs
Mammography is a system that produces breasts images using a low-dose x-ray system. Viewing of the images can be done in various formats such as film at a view box or on a digital mammography work station. Mammography plays an important role in early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in breasts up to two years before it can be felt.
Current guidelines recommend mammography screening every year for women, beginning at age 40. However women who have had breast cancer and those who are at increased risk of breast cancer should seek expert medical advice when they should begin mammograms and about the frequency of screening. We invite you to join our NorCal Imaging Center's team as a Mammography Technologist. This full-time opportunity has a Monday thru Friday dayshift schedule, and is located at our multi-modality outpatient imaging facility in Pleasanton. As a Mammography Technologist you'll:
- Perform professional digital mammography exams and occasional X-ray exams on incoming patients.
- Respond to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
- Complete all paperwork associated with technical procedures.
- Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patient procedures.
We're looking for experienced candidates who are able to independently perform all outpatient mammography procedures, and have some digital mammography work experience. ARRT(R) and CPR certification, CA State Licensure in X-ray and Mammography, and great communication skills are also required.
