About MRI Jobs
Clear and detailed pictures of internal organs and tissues can be made with MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). This test uses radiofrequency waves and a strong magnetic field rather than x-rays to provide images. The procedure helps diagnosing problems in all parts of the body. MRI is unique because it can also create detailed images of blood vessels without the use of contrast material. However there is a movement toward using special non-iodinated contrast material like gadolinium. Specialized equipment is used to perform a MRI. The conventional machine is a large cylinder magnet where a patient must lie still while the test is being preformed. (Source: radiologyinfo.com)
New York Radiology Opening
A private practice group is looking to bring on another partner in the Hudson Valley of New York. They staff two hospitals, one of which is a level 2 trauma center, an outpatient imagining center, and a multi specialty clinic. They are searching for a wide range of specialists, including a women's imager, interventionalists, and someone with expertise in body imaging or MSK. They will offer about $300,000 to start with a competitive partner salary. Included in the package are full benefits, malpractice coverage, and ownership of some equipment. Call is very light, shared equally and taken about 2 nights a month and every sixth weekend. All facilities have excellent equipment and fully integrated PACS. Nighthawk is present at night and on most weekends. This is very nice town located about 1.5 hours north of NYC at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains with some great skiing, climbing, and hiking opportunities.
