About MRI Jobs
Clear and detailed pictures of internal organs and tissues can be made with MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). This test uses radiofrequency waves and a strong magnetic field rather than x-rays to provide images. The procedure helps diagnosing problems in all parts of the body. MRI is unique because it can also create detailed images of blood vessels without the use of contrast material. However there is a movement toward using special non-iodinated contrast material like gadolinium. Specialized equipment is used to perform a MRI. The conventional machine is a large cylinder magnet where a patient must lie still while the test is being preformed. (Source: radiologyinfo.com)
Florida Hospital, a seven-campus tertiary hospital system in Central Florida, is seeking a Body Imager to join its established practice of 53 radiologists. Florida Hospital is the largest hospital in the United States and is a member of the Adventist Health System. Our seven hospitals consist of over 2000 licensed beds, more than 2000 medical staff members and approximately 16,000 employees.
We are seeking one full-time ABR certified Body Imager for a day position. Ideal candidate would be proficient in CT and MR. Must be able to handle high volume. Body Imaging fellowship and CAQ is preferred.
The practice model is a physician led, sub-specialty based, virtual private practice through a subsidiary of Florida Hospital. The opportunity includes an extremely competitive base compensation, excellent professional liability coverage with no tail obligation, 10-12 weeks paid time off, health insurance for the physician and family, relocation and retirement.
This opportunity would allow the flexibility of working in suburban, community-based hospitals or a large tertiary, downtown facility. In house night time coverage is provided and would not be part of candidate’s responsibility. If you are looking for sunny weather, numerous family activities, nearby beaches, strong public and private education systems, shopping, entertainment, and theme parks, the Central Florida area is for you!
