Job Description:
Explain to the patient the procedure to be performed and answer relevant questions. Provide for the physical and emotional comfort of the patient.
Set up patients and perform necessary adjustments and patient position as prescribed by the Diagnostic Radiologist or senior MRI Technologist.
Operate MRI equipment (e.g. Magnet, Imager, Film Processor, etc.) as per manufacturer’s recommendations and the Radiology Department protocols.
Job Qualifications:
Possess and maintain either: 1 a current certification as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist with the California Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch (CDHS-RHB)
OR
a current certification and registration as a Radiologic Technologist as determined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
AND
Possess and maintain current certification and registration as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) as determined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Possess a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience as a MRI Technologist within the preceding 3 years in a clinical facility of similar size and complexity.
Provide evidence of venipuncture certification. This shall entail venipuncture in an upper extremity in order to administer contrast materials manually or by using a mechanical injector under the general supervision of a licensed physician.
