MedQuest is a top provider of Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Services, currently with 98 Outpatient Facilities across the Nation. We offer the highest quality of diagnostic imaging services and strive to provide patients with the highest quality of service.We are currently seeking an experienced MRI/CT Technologist for our center in Johns Creek, GA.
The Lead MR/CT Tech will be responsible for integrating scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction, in order to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information. Essential Functions include:
· Collecting pertinent data about the patient and the procedure
· Selecting the most appropriate cost-effective action plan after reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient's abilities and condition
· Screening patient for ferrous and RF-sensitive material before the patient enters the magnetic field
· Positioning and preparing patients for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures
· Selecting appropriate immobilization devices
· Reviewing the patient’s chart and the physician’s request to determine optimal scanning parameters for the suspected pathology
· Preparing and administer contrast agents in accordance with state and federal regulations
· Entering in necessary patient information to initiate the scan(s)
· Assessing and monitoring the patient’s physical and mental status throughout the procedure
· Reviewing images to determine if additional scans will enhance the diagnostic value of the procedure
· Documenting diagnostic, treatment and patient data in the appropriate record. Documentation must be timely, accurate, concise and complete
· Archiving images to data storage devices according to established guidelines
· Keeping work flow in such a manner that it is an effective use of time, equipment and supplies
Maintain the highest standards of patient care possible:
· Implement and maintain the MedQuest Best Customer Service Program
· Provide accurate explanations and instructions at a level the patient can understand
· Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique
· Exhibit a high level of technical competence and clinical judgment
· Ensure that the required supplies and equipment are available
· Check all equipment routinely and perform preventive maintenance when necessary
· Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, peers and all members of the healthcare team
· Maintain a safe environment by monitoring cryogens
Ensure the Center’s compliance with MedQuest Policy procedures, OSHA, local, state and Federal regulatory requirements.
· Follow radiation protection guidelines
· Participate in formal training and service programs
· Ensure that deadlines are met with regards to reports
· Perform quality assurance activities based on established quality protocols
· Document quality assurance activities and results
· Maintain strict confidentiality with regard to medical records and other data
Exhibit an understanding of the Center budget and scan volumes:
· Communicate regularly with the scheduling department
· Establish goals with the scheduling department
· Develop a system to add unscheduled patients into the timetable for scans
Continuing Education:
· Cross-train for additional modalities within the center
· Complete and retain certification in MRI technology
· Build education files on an outstanding or interesting case
Qualified candidates must have two or more years experience as an MRI and CT Technologist, be a graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program or ARRT registered and must complete required CEU's in a timely manner to ensure Certification remains active.
