About Colorado Nuclear Medicine Jobs
Nuclear Medicine jobs are regulated by the Colorado Medical Board. The Colorado State Board of Medical Examiners is responsible for the regulation of physicians and physician assistants practicing in the state of Colorado under the Medical Practice Act. It is also our duty to define the minimum competencies and proper scopes of practice for athletic trainers, emergency medical technicians and unlicensed x-ray tehchnicians in the state of Colorado.
Group of 15 radiologists are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to work with the chief of Nuclear Medicine. The group covers two hospitals with a third being built, one MRI facility, two walk-in x-ray clinics and 1 freestanding joint- venture multi-modality imaging center. They are currently performing approximately 1000 PET studies and 800 nuc med studies annually at the imaging center and they recently hired a PET/NM technologist for the expansion of the department. They are looking to increase volume by 25%.
Board certification for Diagnostic Radiology is required. Additional certification by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine is preferred, but well rounded candidates with special competency in Nuclear Medicine/CAQ or body imagers with PET/Nuclear Medicine experience will be considered.
You can expect a significant percentage of Nuc Med and PET/CT with the balance in plain films, Fluoro, US, CT and Mammo. Equipment in the imaging center includes 1 MR, 2CT, 1 PET/CT, 1 Gamma camera, 5 Mammo machines, 4 US units, 1 Fluoro/Xray and 1 x-ray. There is also a Siemens dual-head E-cam that is only a year old and a CTI/Siemens; a 6-slice CT, fusion capable that is only 2 years old.
Call is shared equally among all members and is currently 1:14 and is on a rotating basis through the hospital. You are scheduled off on the day of the night shift and will be off the next day. PACS is fully implemented.
