Body Imaging Radiologist
This is a very unique opportunity for someone that would like to be able to work with radiology residents as well as practice high-quality medicine in a private practice-type of environment. The need is for a body or thoracic-imaging trained radiologist. This opportunity can offer 50-70% or more of your clinical time in body imaging and they very much have a need for someone who can help with the accredited MRI fellowship that their group offers. Any candidate will need to be able to cover very basic emergency-type studies in other specialties as well. They need somebody personable who gets along well with referring physicians as well as the residents and fellows you would be working with. This would be a great opportunity for someone to get to work with fellows, first and second year residents, as well as medical students. There is a great work environment that exists here and they really want someone who would fit long-term into this collegial environment.
With it being one of those rare pseudo-academic positions where you can get the professional satisfaction of teaching tomorrow's radiologists, you also have an enviable work and call schedule to go along with competitive private-practice level compensation. Flexible schedule currently with no call and a four-day work week!! Covering one weekend each four or five, with an additional weekday (Monday) off after working a weekend. A weekend consists of 4 hours on a Saturday and 2-3 hours on Sunday mainly supervising the first and second-year residents and doing some of the MRI that they aren't yet qualified to do. Their equipment includes a Siemens 1.5T MRI and a second is being added. It will likely be a 3.0T. Two 32-detector Toshiba CT scanners and a third to be installed soon. Three US machines, digital fluoro, full PACS, voice recognition and it is a totally filmless/paperless department.
Other benefits include: excellent malpractice, health, and disability insurance. An additional 6-8 full weeks of vacation annually on top of the four-day workweek, to equal a total of almost 17 weeks off/year. Contributions to IRA in addition (not deducted) from salary.
