About Radiology Physician Jobs
Employment of physicians will grow about as fast as the average for all occupations through the year 2012 due to continued expansion of the health care industries. The growing and aging population will drive overall growth in the demand for physician services, as consumers continue to demand high levels of care using the latest technologies, diagnostic tests, and therapies. This Northern Virginia private practice is recruiting their second MSK radiologist. The group covers four hospitals and reads for a large primary care group, too. The position is open due to growth from the orthopedic groups. The group is well received by each of the hospitals and the administrations, and a few group members sit on the board and medical staff offices.
You can expect about 30% MSK. The balance would be in general imaging. There is no IR, as the practice has a separate IR section.
The equipment is mostly new and state-of-the-art, including a 64-slice and a few 16-slice scanners. Two of the 1.5 MR’s have been upgraded to the latest platforms, too.
Call is roughly only twice per month. The day you are scheduled to take call, you are off during the day until 4:00 then go in until 11:00. Nighthawk takes over at 11:00, and your post call day is off, too. There is a separate IR section, so there is no IR call.
This is a lifestyle oriented practice, with each physician averaging around only 14,000 exams annually!
The group is offering a partnership track that is shorter than most groups in the area. Initial compensation is negotiable. Partner income is in the $500k neighborhood.
Benefits include: malpractice coverage; up to 12 weeks of vacation; an additional day off every one and a half weeks; family medical and dental coverage; physician disability and life coverage; a child care plan; fully funded tax shelters and pension plans.
