Radiation Oncologist, #nyROi


BC/BE Radiation Oncologist

This position is to provide Radiation Oncology services to the hospital
1.  The complete equipment list is as follows:
~   Elekta SL20 is our radiation equipment
~   4 slice CT scanner – just for CT simulations
~   Phillips SLS conventional simulator
~   NOMOS Mimic and NOMOS Bat machines
~   Corvos treatment planning system and Pinnacle treatment planning system for physicist/dosemitrist

2.  The staffing levels are:
~   Two (2) full time radiation therapists
~   One (1) 60% time nurse
~   One (1) Director
~   One (1) Block/Cutter/Van Driver
~   One (1) Administrative Assistant
~   One (1) Radiation Oncologist
~   One (1) Physicist/Dosimetrist

3.  Our patient load currently is 12-14 per week but here are some added numbers for you:
~   # of simulations and CT's in 2008 – 418; so far in 2009 – 233
~   Consults in 2008 – 125; so far in 2009 – 84
~   Weekly On treatments in 2008 – 524; so far in 2009 – 361
~   Total number if IMRT treatments 2008 – 570; so far in 2009 – 481

4.  Procedures performed in center are CT simulations and Radiation therapy along with ultrasound.
