The North Carolina Medical Board, through efficient and dedicated organization, will license, monitor, discipline, educate, and when appropriate, rehabilitate physicians and mid-level practitioners to assure their fitness and competence in the service of the people of North Carolina. In fulfilling its mission, the Board will play a leading role in the ever-changing health care environment through dialogue with the public, the legislature, academia, and the medical community.
DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS TELERADIOLOGY IN DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA
Are you tired of turf battles? Weary of declining reimbursements? Exhausted with hospital politics? Do you just want to practice what you love - diagnostic radiology - in an intellectually stimulating environment with likeminded colleagues? Then you need to join the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Teleradiology Program at Durham, North Carolina. Multiple full-time and part-time positions are available immediately and are open to general diagnostic radiologists.
The mission of our newly-created program is to provide teleradiology services to VA Medical Centers across the nation through multiple reading locations in different time zones. Work in Durham will be accomplished from 6:00am to 2:30pm for full-time staff and 6:00am to 10:00am for part-time staff at our centralized reading facility in Durham on a 7/365 basis. These are NOT remote reading positions and work from home is NOT permissible. All interpretations will be final - we will not be performing preliminary readings. You will be assigned regular work shifts. There will be NO call.
You will need to be comfortable with CT, MR, ultrasound, and plain film in all body regions. High efficiency and accuracy are expected. A team-oriented attitude is a must. You will be supported by a dedicated group of clerical and IT staff, so you can concentrate on the practice of radiology.
Durham is consistently ranked in the national media as one of the top places to live in the United States including U.S. News and World Report's Best Places to Live in 2009. Affordable living, a thriving economy, cultural diversity and access to big city amenities with smaller town convenience contribute to its ever-growing popularity. A mild climate allows yearlong access to our many outdoor attractions. Beaches to the east and mountains to the west are a short drive away.
We value your expertise and will not treat your work as a commodity! Escape the assembly line and come join us in beautiful Durham, North Carolina. Take advantage of this great opportunity to engage in stimulating and satisfying work with time to enjoy your personal life.
