Pennsylvania Radiology Physician Job

A clinically-oriented Interventional Radiology section in Pennsylvania is seeking a fourth Interventionalist with interest in developing an interventional oncology service. The department in this 800-bed level 2 trauma and regional cancer center consists of three (3) dedicated Interventionalists, three (3) PA’s, six (6) dedicated IR-ICU trained nurses, twelve (12) IR technologists and three (3) tech-aides.  Procedures currently being performed are: UFE and trauma embolizations, thrombolysis, image guided biopsies and drainages, biliary drainages, GI/GU, kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, venous and dialysis access, stents, venous PTA, TIPS, varicose veins, IVC filters, and renal artery stents. Oncologic procedures include chemoembolization and RF ablations, with a very significant opportunity to expand these services. In the past 2 years the overall IR case load has increased by 50%!  Recently opened is a 14,000 square foot in hospital Interventional facility consisting of 2 state of the art single-plane angio rooms, a new state of the art bi-plane neuro IR angio room, 15 private prep and recovery rooms and an IR waiting room for patients and families. Other equipment includes: a new wide-bore 16 slice GE IR CT scanner with CT fluoro, a Sequoia US unit and a portable C-arm for minor procedures. In addition to the clinical work, the physicians admit and round on patients, do consultations, are committed to longitudinal patient care and participate in multi-center research projects. The IR physicians, by their choice, are hospital employed and independent from the diagnostic radiology group. They are highly respected by the physicians in the community and have an excellent relationship with the hospital administration.  A generous guaranteed base salary with incentives is commensurate with experience and a generous vacation and benefits package are being offered.
