About Rad Tech Jobs
A radiology technologist (RT), also referred to as a radiographer or rad tech, operates x-ray equipment to produce medical images. The process begins with reassuring the patient and obtaining their cooperation. They continue by positioning the patient on the examining table to obtain the best possible views for the test. Next the radiographer moves the imaging equipment into position and makes necessary adjustments to set the exposure based on established guidelines.
To prevent personal radiation exposure, a technologist uses protection such as lead shields, and limits x-ray beam size. Some Rad Techs may also operate mobile x-ray equipment to acquire images in the emergency room, operating room, or even at the patient's bedside. We invite you to join our NorCal Imaging Center's team as a Mammography Technologist. This full-time opportunity has a Monday thru Friday dayshift schedule, and is located at our multi-modality outpatient imaging facility in Pleasanton. As a Mammography Technologist you'll:
- Perform professional digital mammography exams and occasional X-ray exams on incoming patients.
- Respond to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
- Complete all paperwork associated with technical procedures.
- Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patient procedures.
We're looking for experienced candidates who are able to independently perform all outpatient mammography procedures, and have some digital mammography work experience. ARRT(R) and CPR certification, CA State Licensure in X-ray and Mammography, and great communication skills are also required.
