Located in beautiful Anchorage, Alaska our practice, PET/CT Center of Alaska, is currently looking to a hire a Fulltime PET/CT technologist. Our center is owned by radiologists and we believe in providing expert care with a personal touch. We pride ourselves on our relations with our referring physicians and patients.

PET/CT Job Description:

GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK:
Perform PET/CT examination of patients of all ages for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares and administers dosages of radio-pharmaceuticals to patients in preparation for diagnostic procedure under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.

2. Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and the protocols of the radiologists.

3. Performs radiation safety and quality control procedures including disposal of radioactive materials and monitoring work area and patient areas to ensure radiation levels are in accordance to regulations.

4. Maintains patient care, comfort and safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, etc.

5. Maintains proper documentation of radioactive materials.

6.Maintains technical competency through continuing education.

7.Completes and signs the Patient Screening form and reviews/explains the procedure to the patient.

8. Maintains a clean work environment.

9. Completes necessary administrative tasks.

10. Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.

11 Complies with the Company policies/procedures.

12. Performs additional duties as required.

13. Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.

14. Measures, and records radiopharmaceutical dosages received, used, and disposed of using computer software and following physician’s prescription.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited 2 or 4 year Nuclear Medicine program and hold an active CNMT or ARRT(N) license.

High School graduate or equivalent.

Special Skills and Requirements:

1. Must be registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board with 1 year PET/CT experience.

2. Must be able to perform injection procedures.

3. Must be able to produce very high quality special imaging with little supervision.

4. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.

5. Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.

6. Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as well as assist with patient maneuvering.

7. Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

8. Able to demonstrate competency in all applicable areas.
