RADIATION ONCOLOGY OP. MANAGER

The Operations Manager of Radiation Oncology and Radiation Therapy manages the clinic of radiation oncology and radiation therapy by supporting the organizational mission, priorities and goals, and by delivering cost effective, optimal quality care services. Collaborates with the Director of Radiation Oncology Services to develop and implement strategic business and marketing plans to best meet and grow volume.? Assists with development and implementation of annual capital and operation budgets and implements best practices in management of resources. Has frequent contacts with Radiation Oncology Physics Director and Clinical Physics Director, Radiation Oncology faculty, residents and physics division staff, and Cancer Center Clinic Administration.

Manages the day-to-day operations of the Radiation Oncology and Radiation Therapy Clinic.

Establishes and maintains performance standards, service excellence, operational efficiency and meet all regulatory requirements.

Plans, develops, implements and evaluates the radiation therapy and clinic practices and procedures to ensure JCAH compliance.

Monitors and ensures correct coding and timely charge capture.

Ensures cost control and appropriate revenue enhancement.

Manages staff assignments to meet productivity standards.

Implements and evaluates safe, therapeutic, and cost-effective patient care practices.

Manages personnel including hire, fire, performance evaluation and staff development.

Serves as member of department?s Performance Improvement committee.

Collaborates with nursing, dosimetry, physics, and physicians to achieve operations improvements and provide optimum quality of care for patients.

Determines an appropriate delivery of care model for service in cooperation with staff and physicians for the clinic and radiation therapy.

Participates in capital budget preparation process.

Exercises control over supply inventory, storage, and usage.

Ensures that equipment is maintained in an appropriate manner.

Recommends equipment and service contract purchases.

1.????? Analyzes volume, revenue, cost, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction trends to drive volume, growth, and profitability.

Analyzes space needs, recommends and manages space renovation projects to meet programs and/or volume growth.

2.????? Develops and maintains operational and program policies and procedures which are compatible with the function and objectives of the department and meets all external compliance requirements.

3.????? Develops, implements, monitors and analyzes profitability of radiation therapy and radiation oncology clinic.

4.????? Develops and monitors an internal system to ensure correct coding and charge capture.?

5.????? Ensures that technical and nursing are conducted in accordance with applicable standards, and that all policies and procedures of the radiation safety program is followed.

6.????? Develops, maintains and evaluates comprehensive quality management program that is in compliance with the clinic's plan as well as external requirements (accreditation, regulatory and licensing agencies.) for the clinics and Cyber knife.

7.????? Serves as back-up to Director of Radiation Oncology services.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications: 3 years experience managing an Oncology department. ARRT-T certified.
