Radiation Therapy Technician


Job Description:  Malpractice Insurance Provided at no cost to employee. Immediate opening for a Rad Therapy Tech at Naval Medical Center in sunny San Diego. This position offers you the opportunity to care for military families in an ideal clinical setting as a civilian. Accurately and safely perform treatment simulation and deliver radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the staff radiation oncologists with minimal supervision.

Arrange and document daily treatment schedules for patients.

Ensure all patients receiving treatment are evaluated weekly by the attending radiation oncologist and whenever the patient has questions or problems related to their treatment.

Emphasize continuity of care, wellness, health risk reduction, preventive care, patient education and assesses patient compliance.

Maintain records of quality control and equipment maintenance for all procedures performed.

Recognize and initiate appropriateness in emergent and property and handle hazardous materials. 
Job Qualifications: 

Current certification in the State of California, Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch as a Therapeutic RadiologicTechnologist

 OR  

a current certification and registration as a Radiation Therapy Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (T-ARRT).  

AND

Possess a minimum of 1 year of full-time radiation therapy experience within the preceding 3 years as a Radiation Therapy Technologist in a clinical facility of similar size and complexity.
