Oncology NP or PA


 

  • Responsible for patients in both clinic and hospital settings, coordinating care and follow up of patients in a shared patient care model under supervision of the physician. 
  • Coordinates clinical staff schedules and trainings. Works closely with Practice Manager to determine clinical needs.
  • Coordinates care with other health-care providers.
  • Addresses diverse aspects of an oncology/hematology practice by:
    • performing medical history and physical exams
    • diagnosing conditions including chemotherapy reactions
    • assisting in development of treatment plans
    • providing health counseling
    • prescribing medications to include controlled substances and chemotherapy
    • participating in the care of patients on clinical trials
    • attending and participating in weekly cancer conferences
  • Electively order defined procedures, transfusions and infusions

 

There is one radiation oncologist, two radiation therapists, one dosimetrist and two physicists on staff.

 

Technology includes: Cyberknife, IMRT, DMLC, Digital Portal Imaging, Ultrasound Guided Targeting (BAT), Brachytherapy, as well as Electronic Medical Records/PACs and QA. This cancer center has been the first to offer cyberknife in the seven state area of Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Utah. They are also the only center offering the cyberknife prostate clinical trials in the region, too!

 

One-year oncology experience required with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work compulsively. Great opportunities for personal and professional satisfaction! No weekend/holiday call.
