About Radiology Jobs
According to the AMA, only 1.2% of physicians specialize in radiology (compare that with 16.7% of physicians that practice the specialty of internal medicine). The radiologist is unlike other physicians because diagnoses and interpretations are made from medical images. Images are taken in a variety of ways by using x-rays or with radioactive substances. Some images are produced by sound waves or the body's innate magnetism. Along with the medical image findings, a radiologist correlates them with other tests, and makes recommendations for additional examinations or treatments.(Source: radiologyinfo.com)
Interventional/General Diagnostic
This is a 235-bed acute care
medical/surgical hospital that offers a wide range of comprehensive services and provides quality healthcare through advances technology in a compassionate, friendly and healing environment. Facilities include a dedicated Heart Institute and on campus open imaging center.
The Center has recently invested in
advanced medical imaging technology through the acquisition of PACS, new 64-slice scanner, new Interventional Radiology Suite, new 3T MRI unit, and Full-Field Digital Mammography system. This an ideal practice setting for well-rounded diagnostic radiologist. Coverage: 3 FTE On-site (to include 2 FTE combined for IR and Diagnostic); 7-6 pm (Mon-Fri) Evening and night teleradiology coverage by Radiology group.
No overnight coverage requirement. Evening telerad coverage from home 2 X/month (M-F: 5-10PM; S&S 3-10PM); Onsite weekend coverage: every 3rd weekend
Due to recent expansion: Diagnostic Radiology: 1 FT; Interventional Radiology (with diagnostic coverage): 2 FT
COMPENSATION:
(Full-Time)
Base Salary @ 350K/Year for Diagnsotic Radiology (highly
negotiable based on experience) and 500K/year for an experienced
Interventional Radiologist willing to cross-cover Diagnostic
Radiology.
Health/Dental Benefits for candidate and legal dependents covered at no cost.
7 weeks paid vacation first year
8 weeks paid vacation every year thereafter
CME allowance of 6K/year
Additional Compensation Opportunities:
a. approximately 4K/quarter bonus for evening telerad rotation; 10p-7a
b. Extra income: additional weekday coverage: $1500/day
additional weekend coverage: $2000/day
c. Other bonus opportunities for Full-Time status with standard
workload responsibilities
