According to the AMA, only 1.2% of physicians specialize in radiology (compare that with 16.7% of physicians that practice the specialty of internal medicine). The radiologist is unlike other physicians because diagnoses and interpretations are made from medical images. Images are taken in a variety of ways by using x-rays or with radioactive substances. Some images are produced by sound waves or the body's innate magnetism. Join a prestigious group of highly dedicated radiologists. There is an immediate need of a Women's Imager, with the possibility of heading up their Women's Imaging department.
This can either be a partnership position, in which case the candidate would be in the general pool, or it could be 100% Woman's Imaging in which case there would be no call, or week-ends. The candidate would work either out of the Women's Imaging center, or rotate between the hospital and the center.
The group would consider BE providing that the candidate has the intention of taking the boards, however, BC is preferred.
If the candidate prefers a partnership track position then there would be 3 days spent at the Women's Imaging Center, and 2 days doing general reads with an 60% to 80% W/I and the balance mixed reads. There is a 1-year partnership track, call 1-6, plus 1 weekend out of 6. The candidate must be familiar with all related procedures including Breast MR.
The group has a 64 CT scanner, 1.5 Tesla Mag, Closed MR, which is in their Valparaiso clinic. 10 weeks vacation. Partners make 600k, terrific benefits including tail coverage.
