About Radiology Jobs
According to the AMA, only 1.2% of physicians specialize in radiology (compare that with 16.7% of physicians that practice the specialty of internal medicine). The radiologist is unlike other physicians because diagnoses and interpretations are made from medical images. Images are taken in a variety of ways by using x-rays or with radioactive substances. Some images are produced by sound waves or the body's innate magnetism. D.C. area Radiology Opening
A single-specialty radiology group, located on the outskirts of DC in southern Maryland and northern Virginia, is looking to bring on a general radiologist with a proficiency in breast imaging. This mid sized group staffs multiple outpatient centers, but no hospitals, so there is no night call. They have state-of-the-art equipment with PACS, PET/CT, 64 Slice CT, 4D US, and 1.5 MR. The group offers full insurance, 12 weeks of leave, and contributes the maximum amount to 401K programs. The compensation is over $260,000 to start and after 2 years one could expect to be making $350,000. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants a no-call position coupled with access to DC, but removed from the busy pace of the capitol.
