About Radiology Jobs
According to the AMA, only 1.2% of physicians specialize in radiology (compare that with 16.7% of physicians that practice the specialty of internal medicine). The radiologist is unlike other physicians because diagnoses and interpretations are made from medical images. Images are taken in a variety of ways by using x-rays or with radioactive substances. Some images are produced by sound waves or the body's innate magnetism. A group of 20 full-time radiologists, are looking to add an additional Mammographer. The group covers 3 hospitals, totaling 669 beds, and one of the hospitals is a level 2 trauma center. They also have 3 imaging centers, including an extensive freestanding imaging center. There is a fully integrated freestanding business office and billing service which supports a 24/7 computer and teleradiology network support service. This group has exclusive contracts and great relations with the hospital administrations for the past 45 years. You can expect at least 60% Breast imaging including screenings, diagnostics, stereotactic biopsies, breast biopsies, etc. The remainder of your time will be spent doing general diagnostic work. Night call coverage by night-hawk service. PACS system is in place and and have digital mammography. Initial salary is negotiable and there is only a 1 year partnership-track with buy-in of accounts receivable, assets, and property. Timing of partnership, buy-in decision and terms flexible.
