About Radiology Jobs
According to the AMA, only 1.2% of physicians specialize in radiology (compare that with 16.7% of physicians that practice the specialty of internal medicine). The radiologist is unlike other physicians because diagnoses and interpretations are made from medical images. Images are taken in a variety of ways by using x-rays or with radioactive substances. Some images are produced by sound waves or the body's innate magnetism. Along with the medical image findings, a radiologist correlates them with other tests, and makes recommendations for additional examinations or treatments.(Source: radiologyinfo.com)

Massachusetts Radiology Opening
A partnership opportunity exists for an interventional radiologist to join a very nice group in western Massachusetts. The vast majority of a person’s time will be spent in IR with the remainder in diagnostic work including MRA and CTA. The incoming person will join three others, so call will be 1:4. The financial package is very competitive for the area, at two years to partner and in the $300,000 range to start. They do have a residency program so some teaching is required, but research is optional. Mammography is not required, but someone who is interested in growing the interventional oncology section would be especially interesting. There is also the opportunity to participate in a multidisciplinary group performing percutaneous interventions for peripheral vascular disease. Geographically, the area provides easy access to both NYC and Boston, while offering, a lower cost of living, good schools, low crime and numerous opportunities for arts and culture.
