Reason for this 20-member department's search is related to multiple retirements and subspecializing along with growth. The ideal candidate will be board certified, have a fellowship in MSK or Body Imaging. Prior teaching experience will be a plus. You will be doing 60-70% in your specialty and some general rad as needed for call approximately every 15 days.

The department has gone through significant re-tooling in the last few years and most of the radiologists are now fellowship-trained. The system consists of four hospitals total including a 270-bed level II trauma center, a 100-bed hospital and two small critical access hospitals. They also have multiple clinics in the area. They use the same compouter systems throughout the health system - EPIC EMR, PACS and voice recognition which really helps the department run efficiently. The equipment is very good at all of their facilities. They are currently considering interested and qualified candidates that have or can get PA and NY licenses and can start priacticing with them as soon as possible. They are willing to consider all levels of experience but would like for this to be a long-term position for the right person.

You are free to live anywhere in the area. There are plenty of options. The area as a whole offers great outdoor activities, housing options and solid school systems as well as access to multiple universities. There are a plethora of outdoor activities close by – skiing, fishing, hunting, water sports, kids activities and popular lake areas are nearby. The area is very family friendly with no crime and very little traffic! The school systems are excellent, most of the physicians send their kids to the public schools, and many of the districts have new facilities. Private schools are also available. Housing is reasonably priced with options that are wide ranging from brand-new construction to historic register homes to acreage with farming depending on your preferences.

One of the many appealing aspects of this position will be the somewhat unique blend of potentially teaching once the planned residency program is in place to be paired with clinical responsibilities along with a competitive salary and generous benefits package in a busy, but not overwhelming department while living in a super family-friendly area with excellent access to outdoor and cultural activities. The cost of living is so low compared with other parts of the Northeast that it makes an opportunity like this hard to beat.
