Outstanding group of 20 has a need for a fellowship-trained nuclear medicine radiologist. Expect 50% of your clinical time to be spent doing nuclear medicine-related studies with the other half of your clinical time doing MR, CT, US, fluoro and plain films. No mammo, women’s imaging or IR available as those are separate entities. They currently have one nuclear medicine radiologist that does 100% nucs and with the near-future opening of a neuroscience center and all of the associated pediatric expansion they expect considerable growth with nuclear radiology and will need a second nucs person to keep up with the growth. You will be the #2 nucs person and when the other nucs rad is on vacation you will have some weeks where you will likely do 100% nuclear radiology. So, they need someone well-versed enough with PET and SPECT nuclear imaging that will feel comfortable spending a considerable amount of their time in this sub-specialty area. You can enjoy a limited general radiology call schedule where a teleradiology service covers nights except for occasional emergency procedures. Nighthawk service takes over at 11 pm and covers until 6:30 am. A normal workday is 7:30-5:00 pm, but they employ rotating evening shifts as well. One radiologist works 9 am-9 pm and another works 4-11 pm, which helps to keep things cleaned up and utilize the nighthawk service as little as possible. But with regard to call we’re really talking about evening shifts as the nighthawk does all preliminary reads overnight. This is an outstanding opportunity for a nuclear medicine-trained radiologist that wants to take advantage of thier nuclear medicine training but also keep all of their general imaging skills sharp. Very congenial group that provides the very best service to their vast network of referring clinicians.

Hospital(s): They cover a large regional health system, which is three hospitals, and four hospital-owned imaging centers. Everyone rotates to all places, though their interventional rads stay at the larger hospital more than the rest of the imagers and neuro rads. There is little running around with this group considering the outpatient clinics (general, orthopedic, and neurosurgery) are within a one mile radius of the hospital. Voted as one of the Top 100 hospitals in the U.S. by renowned consulting groups, their equipment is excellent and includes a 320-slice CT and they currently have a Philips PACS system, 3.0T MRI, US, CT w/ virtual colonoscopy package, fixed PET/CT, up-to-date fluoro, and plain films. The equipment and supporting staff are nothing short of excellent.

Community: Ranked in the top 25 cities for young professionals, this cosmopolitan community is surrounded by rolling hills and offers the best in metropolitan and outdoor adventure. Excellent public and private school systems from preschool through graduate school. With a healthy job market (major employers currently adding hundreds of jobs), great schools, top-notch entertainment, a major university, over 800 restaurants, an active arts community and bountiful opportunities for outdoor recreation. There are lots of hiking and biking trails, lakes and rivers, and a moderate climate, which provides the best of four seasons. This community has everything to offer and is getting better planning and implementing multiple GREEN programs.
