Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A radiology group in central New York state is in need of a board certified general diagnostic radiologist coverage for the week of 12/19 - 12/23. The workweek is Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm at a community hospital. No call and no weekends. For a locums provider no procedures are required. The average daily volume is between 80 to 100 studies per day. The radiologist's read off a shared work list and will switch chairs each day. There are 4 radiologists on site one for cat scan, flouro /diagnostic chair, MR chair, and interventional. The radiologist will be working in the cat scan chair 3 days each week and the fluoro/diagnostic seat 2 days per week. The Cat scan chair is the busiest chair reading 60 cat scans a day, the diagnostic chair works off the general work list and there are residents to help with the flouro cases. For locums the radiologist will just be reading as much as they can off the list. The PACS system is Merge. Mammography and MQSA required.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
