Nurse - NICU

Our Medical Center provides comprehensive health services to residents in Austin and the surrounding areas. We are a part of a teaching and referral hospital that today provides a variety of exceptional clinical programs and services, including multi-organ transplantation, cardiology, oncology and physical rehabilitation services, maternity, neonatology and emergency/trauma care.

We are a level III NICU and are seeking an experience NICU Nurse. Qualified candidates must be a graduate from an NLN school of professional nursing with a minimum of 2 years Level III NICU experience. Completion of or actively pursuing a BSN degree. At least one year experience as a Staff Nurse in a NICU setting. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas. NRP and current certification from the American Heart Association as a BLS provider. Must be interested in working nights for at least 1 year.

In addition to conventional ventilation, we have oscillator, high frequency and nitric oxide capabilities. We care for all infants requiring intensive care including extremely premature infants and all surgical cases (except major open-heart surgery). We use a body cooling system that induces hypothermia to reduce brain damage. We have the only cerebral function monitoring system in the city. We have an active developmental team including SLPs, OTs, PTs, and staff dietitians. The NICU also includes a satellite pharmacy with specialized pharmacists and techs. Our transport team is available 24/7 for any hospital requesting a transfer to our unit. The RN staff are NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certified and many are NCC (National Certification Credentialing) certified in their area of specialty. There is a Neonatologist in house 24/7.
