Chief Cardiology Technologist #2033
Under general direction, supervises, evaluates, Under general direction, supervises, evaluates, schedules, orients, trains and educates technical and clerical personnel; coordinates technical performance and delivery of noninvasive cardiac care; may perform duties of echocardiographer; acts as liaison between technologists, physicians and area support staff; coordinates the services of the Noninvasive Cardiac Laboratory.
The Chief Cardiology Technologist is a single incumbent technical class acting as a working supervisor that is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the noninvasive cardiology area, including a wide variety of technical testing procedures in the Cardiology Department.
The class reports to an Assistant Hospital Administrator for administrative direction and the Chief of Cardiology for technical direction relating to patient care, as well as the physician director of the non-invasive Cardiac Graphics Department.
5 (five) Years Experience Relevant to Job Function.
Supervisory Experience.
Associate's Degree.
ARDMS - American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography.
BLS Certified.
CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities listed. Typically, the equivalent of two years of college coursework in an accredited college or university with major course work in general education, health related studies in anatomy; physiology, sectional anatomy, pathophysiology, medical ethics & law and sonography specific to patient care; training at an approved school of Cardiovascular Technology preferred with supervisory experience or management/supervisory training courses desirable, as well as advanced training in specialized cardiovascular technology. Experience requirements include a minimum of five years' experience in noninvasive cardiology, proficiency in all aspects of noninvasive cardiac testing with a minimum of three years in a leadership capacity.
