Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Administrative Director of Surgical and Diagnostic Services directs, coordinates and oversees all operational and clinical aspects of assigned Clinical Ancillary Services Departments. As a member of the hospital's senior management team, the Administrative Director participates in all senior management activities including strategic planning, board and medical staff relations, financial and human resource management/development, policy and procedure development and implementation, quality/continuous performance improvement, growth/service development, program development and professional and personal development for both the services for which he/she is accountable and for the hospital as a whole. The Administrative Director is accountable to ensure all areas within scope of responsibility are operated in a manner consistent with the organization's philosophy, goals and objectives as well as administrative and medical staff policies and procedures. In addition, the Administrative Director is responsible to ensure all services within their scope of responsibility are integrated within the hospital's plan for patient care. There are 7 OR's, however, only 4 are running at this time. Approximately 3,500 surgeries per years (not counting Endo's).
Requirements: May be met with appropriate accommodations if deemed necessary. Considerable mental concentration on variable projects. Standing, walking, sitting, and lifting are also required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. General clinical knowledge in all areas of department; general knowledge of computers for spreadsheet computations and word processing; strong financial management and public relation skills necessary; along with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related Bachelor's degree required.
MBA/MHA or other relevant master's degree preferred.
Three to five (3 to 5) years of clinical and/or health care administration experience required.
At least three (3) years experience as a department manager in a clinical ancillary area is required.
Current License/Registration in chosen field.
