About Teleradiology Jobs
Due to rapid technology advancement and improvements in electronic transmission of medical images, Teleradiology has emerged as a viable and cost effective alternative for many hospitals and clinics needing coverage for medical imaging.
Teleradiology transmits radiological images, such as x-rays, CTs, and MRIs, from one location to another for the purposes of interpretation and/or consultation. Digital images are transmitted over a distance using standard telephone lines, satellite connections, or local area networks (LANs). Teleradiology also is beginning to include the process of interfacing with the HIS/RIS systems in the transporting of digital images.(Source: filmdigitizer.com)
General Radiologist w/MRI
This 13-member group in northern Illinois is in search of a general radiologist able to do all modalities for the summer/fall of 2009. Active Illinois license and ability to NOT be in Chicago a plus. The fellowship background that would fit best for their needs would be a body imager or a cross-sectional imager, but fellowship training is not mandatory. This is a busy, hard-working group looking for someone that fits into a high-volume atmosphere. Average annual volume is 22K per year each with 12 weeks of vacation, so need someone with a solid work ethic and a bent towards private practice. PACS and voice recognition at both hospitals they cover and they also cover an outpatient center where they do MRI, CT , US and PET. Nighthawk covers the department from 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. Heavy interventional procedures not required, but anything invasive that is considered minor (biopsy, drainage) would be a plus as well.
