About Teleradiology Jobs
Due to rapid technology advancement and improvements in electronic transmission of medical images, Teleradiology has emerged as a viable and cost effective alternative for many hospitals and clinics needing coverage for medical imaging.
Teleradiology transmits radiological images, such as x-rays, CTs, and MRIs, from one location to another for the purposes of interpretation and/or consultation. Digital images are transmitted over a distance using standard telephone lines, satellite connections, or local area networks (LANs). Teleradiology also is beginning to include the process of interfacing with the HIS/RIS systems in the transporting of digital images.(Source: filmdigitizer.com)
This sub-specialized radiology practice is offering the opportunity to join their practice, and you'll read remotely from Hawaii!
This format is not an experiment: there are several radiologists in this component of the practice. There has been consistent increases in volume, and they seek more fellowship trained radiologists to start 2011. The goal is for the group to acquire 365 days/ year coverage of call with the efficiency of final readings. Fellowship training is required.
You would join as a full-time member of the practice, typically working from 10pm – 6:30am (Eastern Time) equivalent to 4pm – 12:30am (Hawaii Time). Full interpretations, with some preliminaries are to be expected. Exams include: CT, MR, US, Nuclear Medicine, and plain films.
Due to the remote nature of the opportunity there is no IR or mammography. Equipment is all high-quality and state-of-the-art, the same that is used in the hospital, and all of the technology will be provided by the practice.
There is no call associated with this position!
This is an employee position , with generous and more than competitive compensation and benefits. The group also offers additional work opportunities should you wish to maximize your income potential.
