The Board is responsible for the licensing of doctors (MD & DO), physician's assistants, respiratory care practitioners and emergency medical technicians – paramedics wishing to practice in Delaware. The Board investigates complaints, conducts hearings and imposes disciplinary sanctions for violation of the Delaware Code and/or the rules and regulations of the Board, when deemed necessary.

The group reads about 180,000 exams at their current hospital and the new hospital produces a volume of about 75,000 exams.
