The Radiologic Technology (RADT) program at Bowling Green State University Firelands College is seeking a Program Director/Assistant Teaching Professor for their Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology degree. This is a full-time, non- tenure track, nine-month, renewable faculty appointment, located in the Applied Sciences Department. The Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology Degree program is accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the Ohio Department of Health. The program director is responsible for program coordination, assessment, compliance, and teaching. State-of-the-art classrooms and labs are located on campus. The RADT program and Applied Sciences department are committed to providing an environment that promotes collaboration and multiple opportunities for professional excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the program.
  • Teach didactic, laboratory, and web-based courses in radiologic technology.
  • Evaluate student performance.
  • Meet with students for advising, scheduling, and discussing concerns.
  • Evaluate student applications for admission, retention policy, and student completion of program.
  • Maintain and update Program and Clinical Policy documents as needed.
  • Update and facilitate contracts with all program affiliations in coordination with, the Dean, and University General Counsel.
  • Perform ongoing program planning, review, evaluation, assessment, and curriculum development/revision.
  • Develop and maintain program budget in coordination with the Department Chair.
  • Perform all administrative aspects of the program to include course scheduling, fiscal planning, monitoring program outcomes, continuous review and analysis, planning and development, and the overall effectiveness of the program.
  • Ensure compliance with all national accreditation and credentialing standards for the profession of Radiologic Technology.
  • Ensure compliance with all state standards for licensure and the profession of Radiologic Technology.
  • Prepare the program for reaccreditation and prepare annual accreditation reports on a routine and as needed basis.
  • Complete all program documents and reports as required by the University, ARRT and ODH.
  • Promote program through the development of marketing materials and recruitment activities.
  • Coordinate with the Coordinator of Clinical Education to assess the quality and evaluate the overall effectiveness of all aspects of the clinical portion of the program.
  • Serve as an active member of the Radiologic Technology Advisory Board.
  • Serve as an active member of the Allied Health Sub-Group in the Applied Sciences Department.
  • Participate as an active member of the Applied Sciences Department.
  • Participate in related service and scholarly activities as appropriate.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as may relate to maintaining and improving the quality of the education program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four years of clinical experience in a health care facility as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  • Valid Registered Radiologic Technologist license from the ARRT.
  • Licensed radiographer in the State of Ohio.
  • Master’s Degree in a health-related field at the time of appointment.
  • BLS Provider.
  • Evidence of a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the profession.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous program director experience with an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Teaching experience in an accredited radiologic technology program either as an appointed faculty member, clinical preceptor, or adjunct faculty.
  • Record of successful teaching at the undergraduate level as demonstrated by student and/or peer evaluations, instructional materials, and other indicators of student achievement.
  • Current clinical experience in a variety of patient care environments (e.g. Hospital, OP imaging centers, physician’s office, mobile).
  • Secondary licensure in CT, MRI, Bone Density, Vascular, etc.
  • Experience in JRCERT or ABHES accreditation.
