RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is looking for a Lead Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a Lead Mammography Technologist, you will perform mammography exams for use of diagnosis and treatment of disease or injury to patients of all ages. You will also perform DEXA scans in this role.

You'll be leading part of a team providing a wide range of screening, diagnostic and interventional procedures with compassion and integrity to ensure the highest quality, access, service and value to our patients, referring providers and partners. ?You'll play an important part of that process by using your knowledge of principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology and mammography and the operation and maintenance of radiologic equipment.

Essential Duties:

(75%) Patient Imaging

  • Produces diagnostic images in assigned area and performs quality control tasks as assigned
  • Screens patients before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to the examination
  • Performs mammography examinations according to a high quality standard in order to service the patient and referring physician
  • Maintains and adjusts equipment
  • Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring offices and other associates and peers
  • Converses with doctors, nurses, patients and family members as required
  • Ensures a high quality of patient service is delivered
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect themselves, their patients, and coworkers
  • Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers

(20%) Imaging & Staff Support

  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
  • Ensures comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures and protocols for all technologists
  • Ensures compliance with state regulations and internal policies regarding documentation and tracking of safety and licensing-related items
  • Manages overall staffing levels for adequate coverage at all times
  • Establishes associate schedules to provide for planned vacations and time off
  • Assists in the recruiting interview and hiring process
  • Manages the training of new technologists, providing resource and technical expertise
  • Initiates and participates in staff performance evaluations, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and/or termination of associates
  • Monitors and approves timecards
  • Maintains an updated protocol manual and software upgrades
  • Monitors medical supply inventory
  • Leads regular staff meetings and associate one-on-ones
  • Keeps manager well informed of status of assignments and responds to requests and leadership of manager
  • Helps manager gain support for unit goals and plans

(5%) Performs other duties as assigned


  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have training and experience sufficient to complete radiographic procedures independently
  • Advanced modality certification
  • Must have continuing CEU's in modality as required by MQSA or state specific


  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Bilingual
