Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Outpatient Pediatric Diagnostic Imaging

Charlottesville, VA

Full Time

Sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 available. This is a Monday-Friday position with no weekends, no call, and no holidays!


Responsible for providing patient services using medical ultrasound under the supervision of a physician responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures.

  • Performs appropriate ultrasound procedures and records anatomical pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
  • Assists the physician in gathering sonographic data necessary to diagnose a variety of conditions and diseases.
  • Obtains reviews and integrates pertinent patient medical history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results.
  • Provides patient education related to medical ultrasound.
  • Records and processes sonographic data.
  • Provides patient services in a variety of medical settings.
  • Performs quality assurance checks on equipment, ensuring proper safety standards are met.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $30.74 - $49.18 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Associate's or bachelor's degree required. A degree in diagnostic medical sonography preferred.
  • Experience: No experience required. Diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred.
  • Licensure: ARRT(S) or ARDMS certification required. Registered Vascular Technologist certification required within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, and reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive). Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. May be exposed to cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
