HIGHLIGHTS OF THE OPPORTUNITY
FACILITY INFORMATION
Since 1908, Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) has been serving a southwestern Indiana and southeastern Illinois. What started as one building is now many. Today GSH is a 232-bed community healthcare facility and largest employer in the community. Over 1900 employees help GSH serve as the anchor for the communities’ healthcare needs. Through a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, GSH offers a broad range of medical services as well as some of the most progressive technology available. The Imaging Center has two 64-slice CT scanners with the capacity to provide virtual colonoscopies, cardiac angiograms and cardiac imaging. The hospital also features the Dayson Heart Center, their Cancer Pavilion, and their state of the art Same Day Surgery Center.
In 2012, the hospital broke ground on their 5 year B.E.A.C.O.N. Project (Building Excellence Around Communities, Opportunities and Needs). The project encompassed a new 120-bed, five-story inpatient tower, a redesign of key health care service areas, and an upgrade to the hospital’s engineering systems, at a price tag over $100 million. It is easy to see why GSH is the preferred health care provider in their 10-county service area.
